The Economic Times Young Leaders B-School programme is a platform for recognizing and rewarding bright young talent in India’s B-Schools. This initiative is meant to encourage, identify and nurture those with the potential to be India Inc’s future leaders.

Q2How does The Economic Times Young Leaders B-School Edition programme work?

The programme is divided into 4 Phases.

Phase 1: A simple 20 min. online personality test

Phase 2: A rigorous 45 min.online test to assess your quantitative skills, verbal ability, logical reasoning followed by a 35 min. online test to assess your managerial competency

Phase 3: Assessment of functional knowledge and oral communication

Phase 4: Interviews with the industry’s top CEOs

A shortlist at the end of every phase determines the candidates who will move forward.

Q4What are the eligibility criteria for the programme?
  • Final year, full time postgraduate management students who are Indian resident nationals, as on 22 August 2016, studying in any business school in India
  • Students doing a full time 1 year MBA course are also eligible to participate

Q7What happens in each phase of the programme?

Phase 1: Online Personality Test

  • Register on this website.
  • You will receive an e-mail verification request on the e-mail address provided
  • Once verification is completed, a User ID & Password will be e-mailed to you. This will be required to take the test
  • In case you do not receive either the email verification or the username and password, do write to us at etylbschool@timesgroup.com
  • Complete the 20 minute personality test. You will be informed once the test has been completed
  • There will be a score-based shortlisting and qualified candidates will move to the next phase
  • You will receive an e-mail confirming if you have made it to the next phase or not

 

Phase 2: Online Tests on Aptitude & Managerial Competencies

  • A User ID & Password along with the test link will be emailed to qualified candidates
  • You will have to complete two sets of tests and will be informed once the same have been completed
  • There will be a score-based shortlisting and qualified candidates will move to the next round
  • You will receive an e-mail informing you if you have moved to the next phase or not

 

Phase 3: Functional Expertise

  • Business problems based on one of the Aditya Birla Group’s businesses will be emailed to the qualified candidates
  • Candidates can choose the problem which they wish to work on
  • Each candidate will be allocated a ‘Buddy’ from the Aditya Birla Group with whom he/she can discuss the case
  • Students will have to submit the following:
  • Problem analysis and solution in a PPTformat
  • A 5 min. video presentation (details will be shared during this phase)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • There will be a score-based shortlisting and qualified candidates will move to the next round
  • You will receive an e-mail informing you if you have moved to the next phase or not

 

Phase 4: Interviews

  • Candidates who qualify for Phase 4 will be required to be present for a face to face personal interview with a CEO panel
  • This phase will be conducted in Mumbai
  • An email will be sent to you informing you of the date, time and venue of the interview
  • A separate set of instructions will be communicated to students who are away on an international exchange programme

Candidates will be required to submit relevant documentation as and when requested during the relevant phases of the programme

Q8What are the important information areas regarding the tests and assessments?
  • Online tests which are based on personality do not have any right or wrong answers. The verbal & numerical tests will by their very nature have an answer which is right or wrong.
  • There is no negative marking in any of the phases.
  • Answers once submitted cannot be changed.
  • The deadline for the tests and assessments cannot be extended under any circumstance.
  • Individual scores at each phase will not be revealed. We will let all the candidates know if they qualify for the next phase or not.
  • In the event of a tie, all people tied at that score will move to the next phase.

  • Phase 1: Personality test: 20 minutes
  • Phase 2:

    Quantitative, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning – 45 minutes
    Managerial Competencies Test - 35 minutes

  • Phase 3: Functional Expertise: NA
  • Phase 4: Interview with CEOs: 30 minutes
Q9How will shortlisted candidates be informed?

At the end of every phase, we will publish a shortlist on the website and inform shortlisted candidates on the email address and/or mobile number mentioned in the registration form.

Q10If my system hangs, will I have to start all over again?

You can resume the test if your computer/internet/browser has stopped working during the test. Please ensure that you resume the test within 3 hours
